Dipolog City has gone a long way since its founding as a Spanish Settlement in 1834. Since then, Dipolog has progressed by leaps and bounds to become an urban center, making it the capital of the Province of Zamboanga del Norte and the gateway to Western Mindanao. The rapid growth and development in infrastructure, particularly the convention facilities and road network, has made Dipolog a favored site for conferences, seminars, athletic competitions and the like in the region.
